The next regularly-scheduled meeting of the TSD401 Board of Trustees, on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 5:30 pm, will be held in the THS auditorium rather than at the District Office in order to accommodate a larger-than-usual expected attendance. The agenda includes discussion of the Teton High School mascot.
Representatives from the Idaho School Board Association (ISBA) will facilitate the public-comment section of the meeting, which takes place early in the meeting. ISBA Leadership Development officers David Brinkman and Krissy LaMont are coming from Boise.
The school district expects civil discourse. The board does not respond to specific issues or answer questions during public comment.
The meeting will adhere to the district’s policy on public participation. The policy, #4105, is available online for public review at: https://tsd401.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/4105-1.pdf
After listening to public comment, trustees will discuss the issue among themselves. Like all board meetings, the public is welcome to remain for all or part of the rest of the meeting.
The board will then continue with the rest of its agenda. Items expected to be discussed include the 2019-2020 budget, bond-construction status, and policy updates. Additional public comment, on any topic, is not taken until the end of the meeting.
The meeting will be simulcast on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Given the alternative venue, the livestream will likely not include a screen of documents when they’re discussed. For reference, all meeting materials, including the full agenda, are posted online at the TSD website; click Board Meeting Documents at https://tsd401.org/school-board/
Those who cannot attend or do not wish to speak at the meeting are encouraged to provide input to the school board member who represents their zone.
