Basic Philosophy:
To motivate and encourage students to gain a passion about music.
“It’s easy to play any musical instrument: All you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself.” - JS Bach
Schedule:
High School—Beginning Guitar (1st hour), Symphonic Band (5th hour), Jazz Band (6th hour), and Pep Band.
Middle School—8th Grade Band (5th hour), 6th Grade Band (6th hour), 7th Grade Band (7th hour).
Grading:
- Required to attend all performances: Halloween, Christmas, and Spring Concerts. Festival is also REQUIRED!
- Practice 100 minutes a week.
- Daily Points—Be on time, be prepared, and be attentive.
- Playing Tests.
- Pep Band is required for 8th grade and up.
- 8th graders need to go to two games of their choice.
- High School—1 football, 2 girls basketball, and 2 boys basketball of choice. Districts only count as extra credit.
