College Bound Juniors
Junior Year
__ Take the ACT and/or SAT at least once (October, February, April or June).
__ Begin researching colleges. Find out about admissions requirements,
cost, majors offered, etc. Decide what's important to you in a college.
__ Fill out the NCAA Clearinghouse application if you plan to compete in
sports at a Division I or II college.
__ Register for challenging courses next year! Colleges strongly recommend
taking math and science during your senior year. You can also earn
college credits by taking AP or Dual Enrollment classes.
__ Consider career-related summer employment.
__ Continue saving money for college.
__ Begin visiting college campuses.
Senior Year
__ Take challenging classes!
__ Take the SAT and/or the ACT a second time (October or December).
__ Take advantage of work experience and job shadowing opportunities.
__ Visit your top college choices and fill out applications.
__ Begin collecting letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors,
employers and other community members.
__ Write application essays and have someone proof-read them.
__ Apply for scholarships and financial aid.
